 New Features

Provisional list of new features in V1.1 beta (updated 27 july 2002)

Interface (see
example)
The interface has several new ways of handling all the options

Darkframe subtraction
-
use a colour BMP or a FITS file to subtract darkframes from the image-sequence
- Direct Darkframe creation from an image-sequence

Flatfield division
-
use a colour BMP or a FITS file to correct the images in a sequence
- Direct Flatfield creation from an image-sequence

De-Interlace ( see example)
-
remove interlacing artifacts from your images before registering/stacking

Resampling (see example)
-
this technique allows you to register the images on a sub-pixel level. Currently you can resample from 2-4x (steps of 0.1) as long as the final resampled image is smaller than 1024x1024 pixels.

Resize (see example)
-
in combination with resampling, resize allows you to downscale back to the original format. And you can also rescale and save any image into a size that suits your needs.

Expand (see example)
-
this option in the stacking page allows you to create an image on the original scale that is larger than the original. This image will show the whole area covered by the imagesequence, this is especially handy with lunar-overview images. You can let the camera drift (keep a feature always in view for registration) and record a wide area.

Gamma curve (see example)
-
The gamma curve allows you to change the nature of the relation between the image-intensity and the output on the screen. This is done with a flexible curve where you can add/remove anchor-points.

Imagesize
-Maximum size of output images increased from 640x480 to 1024x1024

Save to subdir
-
save your processed images into a named subdirectory in the directory of the input

Project save/load
-
save all processing information into a projectfile for later re-use. This includes all settings of the controls and all recorded image-information (shifts etc).

Automatic control save
-
saves all controls into a ini-file that are re-used on startup, this ensures that you can keep your preferred settings every time you use the program

Histogram-stretch
-
The histogram stretch allows you to change the dynamic range of the image.

Jpeg-save/load
-
You can now load jpeg-sequences and save the results of the processing also into a JPEG-file
