LRGB with PSP7
(images even with different orientations and size !!)

(I) Color image with TOUCAM II, no filtre
(Registax2 on .AVI)

(II) B&W image with VestaPro B&W CCD, mode RAW
(Registax2 on .AVI)

Bonne  image brute RAW

Make a copy of both images, called here  I & II

Select the whole image II and glue it as new layer on I with CTRL-L
In layers properties, choose "Difference" mode

With the mouse, move the  upper layer in order to get a contrasted border you will able to follow after rotation trials
(here upper border of ring A)

Try a value for rotation (this layer only)...

and do some translation. If not perfect, "undo" and retry with a modified rotation value (including decimal values in case)

satisfactory result with 6,5° (was third trial)

Translate until getting the darker result (as here) !
Then simply crop with a sufficient margin.
On the cropped image III do 'copy'.

With CTRL-V you get a new image 'I' correctly orientated/translated coming from the upper layer of image III

Come back to III, and hit 'del' to recover the cropped II' image

Note : if the images were of different size, act now by resizing. My solution to do this is to push contrast all but maximum, use the magic tool to select the object. Then CTRL-V will create a new image which size is indicated (if cursor is on image) on the lower right of the screen, here eg. 389*189. Then just calculate the ration and resize  the bigger image.

Separate I' in TSL layers (Tints, Saturation, Luminosity)

Change II' in gray levels mode !

Compare
"luminosity" & "RAW"
images

Ajust  (SHIFT-b) RAW image (II', left) to get about the same luminosity

Last, recombine TSL layers using ajusted II' as luminosity layer !
