MEADE DS and AutoStar
No more tangling !
One of the first problem encountered is wire tangling on the mount !
Below you can see how to fix most of the problem.
Indeed a millisecond interrupt of the power supply render the autostar completely
inoperant for that session !
After this photo was done, I did a node of the poxer supply wire on the new
bar and it is even better !
A 5mm hole was bored in the vertical part of the mount above the connexion
plate.
One end of the bar has been threaded to accomodate two clamped nuts on the
inside side (not seen).
Leveling helper !
A 5mm hole (1) was bored in the vertical part of the mount (the only flat
one!) and in a pice of cornered 3mm thick aluminium plate.
After a time taking work to put the mount top horizontal (even when turning
the DS all around), the bubble level was centered.
Previously a smaller hole (2) was done and an Allen screw and nut was slightly
clamped to control the play.
When everything is leveled, all is firmly tighten.
Such system brings you the possibility to have your mount leveled in a couple
of minutes in future sessions !
