Retired more than 17 years ago, I live part in Jerusalem, Israël and part in France.
I have participated to the beginning of the webcam adventure in astronomy, a time (~year 2000) where we were modifying all the Philips ToUCams we could put a hand on.
Today, my main interest is the Sun (at full Sun resolution in many wavelenths
like H-alpha, Helium D3, CaK CaH, etc... with the Sol'ex, in high resolution
in H-alpha with a Quark Chromosphere,
a Coronado SM90 BF30,
a
even a double-stack
PST & 2.2x
enhanced PST).
I am also equipped and interested by:
-
ISS
Hires tracking (C8 Edge and recently 125x Coolpix P1000)... I use a dedicated
modified EQ-G mount and Videos Sky software, both developped
by Emmanuel Rietsch !
- Planetary imaging with a Meade 12" LX-200 GPS and 10" Classic,
-
The Moon with the
Coolpix P1000,
-
3D stereoscopic imaging especially landscapes, birds, insects (macros),
- Near infrared (NIR) including 2x A7s
MK1 with one Halpha defiltered,
- Thermal infrared
(TIR) at medium resolution,
-
UV nature photography (using a full spectrum Canon EOS 1100D),.
-
High Speed photography up to 1000 FPS producing slow motion movies with
different cameras and base values, at best a stereo rig of 2 RX10
IV (up to 600 mm zoom !),
-
Lightnings photography
...
To see some result of so many activities, I recommend having a visit to my
YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/sweillerYT and
for ,the Sun, having a look at spaceweather after spectacular events....
I
am day after day grateful to the authors of FireCapture, SharpCap, RegiStax5&6,
Autostakkert!3, AstroSurface, PIPP, VirtualDub, GIMP2,
Deepskystacker, SER-Player & PIPP, Inti, JSolex, WEB site tutorials, etc
...
They
are some of the best amateur astronomy tools !
With Gilbert Grillot we develop some utilities in Delphi ! Recently ChatGPT has enabled us to do it faster !
Long time ago, I was most active in RegiStax5/6 development, a bit in SER-Player and was a member of the SCF (french 3D stereo club). Even my imagery of the Sun has led by chance to scientific publications ...
